Winter the best season to learn a new language!

Have you ever considered learning a new language during the winter season? There are some valid reasons to start with your new language class now. Many people think of winter as a season of cold and unpractical time to go out. Well, if you think that people spend most of winter indoors rather than outdoors, reading a book is an excellent idea, but learning a new language is even a better idea. In reality cold weather keeps our attention and our ability to focus for longer periods of time. You don't have to be in a fridge to be able to stay awake, warm up your winter season. Winter can be a fun season as you can interact with other students, practice , sing new songs and learn a new world of words.

Weekly, Intensive or Immersion Language Classes?

You are considering learning a new language but are unsure about the type of program that is best for you. Before deciding, you have to ask yourself  one question: how much time and effort are you willing to put in in order to achieve your goal?

At Pasadena Language Center you have the option to choose between weekly, intensive and immersion classes. The main difference between a weekly class, intensive class and immersion class is the pace. The program is the same, the method is the same., but the pace is different.

Weekly classes will walk you through a longer process. It will take you about a year and a half to complete the program. If you don't want to rush and you need more time to process all the information, then this is the best choice for you.

Intensive classes are going twice as fast: in 4 weeks you will be covering the material that you would cover in 2 weekly sessions. The amount of information is concentrated in a shorter time, but you will achieve the same results.

Immersion classes are also fast paced as they run for 4 hours on Saturdays or Sundays. If you don't have much time for learning a new language, then this is the best option for you.

Do you speak French?/ Parlez-vous français?

Who doesn't know what a "baguette" or a "croissant" is? Or hasn't heard "la musique" of Edith Piaff or Charles Aznavour? Who hasn't dreamt of a "dîner en amoureux" on a "bateau-mouche" sailing smoothly on the Seine, gazing at the lighted Tour Eiffel and whispering "Je t'aime!"?

Everybody, or at least most of us, has heard about France and the French language, the "language of love", as they call it.

The focus is on Iceland

Every time we open the TV or browse the internet, we are invaded by a variety of news on current events of greater or lesser importance. The most important ones are those that impact us in one way or another. The latest event is the eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland. And as the ashes spread around the world, the interest in Iceland grows as well.

You have probably already browsed the internet to find out more about the country, its culture and its people. You probably got also interested in the language spoken in Iceland: Icelandic.
